The hand line for fishing at night has a tubular handle on which is mounted a coiling spool. The handle (11) forms a battery housing for at least one battery (17). It contains a light source, which is arranged in the plane of the coiling spool (12). The coiling spool (12) is formed of a transparent material and has a fixing device (36) for applying a correspondingly shaped second coiling spool (13) which is larger or smaller than the first speed. The second coil is releasably fixed to the first spool (12). Both spools have different diameters and are so fixed in each other that one projects into the other.
