The process is for replacement of baths made of enamelled sheet steel or enamelled cat iron, firmly built into position and cladded with masonry and tiles in the sidewall area. Mortar fixing the bath tub edge is first removed and then old bath is then cut away with special tools, and removed from the cladding, which remains. The edge of the replacement bath is cut to fit this remaining cladding, and the bath is inserted into it, joint gaps between bath edge and cladding being sealed with mortar. A metalworking hacksaw can be used for cutting the new bath to fit the cladding, the enamelled surface being protected by an adhesive strip cemented along the cutting line. This system enables replacement to be effected without fitting new cladding.
|
