The general purpose trolley which may be used for conveying pipes, gas cylinders, etc., has a horizontal rectangular frame (1) made from square section tube. One set of tubes is mounted on top of another, forming a double layer. The ends of the lower longitudinals (2) and the upper cross members (3) are left open. Each wheel (6) is mounted on a bent arm (5) and each arm can be locked into any open end of a tube. Further openings pass vertically through the centre of all four sides, so that a draw bar (9) may be locked in any vertical hole (4) by means of a locating block (10). Also any arm can be inserted into any vertical hole, giving a greater clearance underneath than when the horizontal openings (3) are used.
