alpha -Acylacetanilide yellow-forming couplers having a cyclic 5- or 6-membered sulfonamide group attached through its nitrogen atom to the phenyl group of the anilide portion of the molecule provide dyes of better light stability. The couplers include both 2-equivalent and 4-equivalent couplers.
