<p>Vaginal dispenser comprises a plurality of containers having walls that are at least partly of semi-permeable membranes and releasable contg. a biologically active agent (I), with a thin flexible planar seal fin encompassing and receiving the outer surface of the containers at a central location to keep them in an arcuate flat sequence. Pref. the containers are made of cellulose. Used for delivering (I), esp. contraceptives and medicaments into the vagina; the dispenser is easily fitted by the user and can remain in the vagina during intercourse and during menstruation. Pref. there is one or more hinge points on the seal fin to give additional flexibility, and the dispenser is pref. circular. Pref. in such a circular dispenser the containers are made of cellulose and are semi-permeable membranes. The containers may be filled with an aqs. soln. of a micelle-forming spermicidal surfactant at a concn. above the critical micelle concn. of the surfactant. Suitable cellulose containers are of material of dry thickness 5-25 mu and swollen thickness 10-50 mu.</p> |
