Gramophone tone arm support eliminating torsion - has connecting wires replaced by knife edges and torsion compensating springs

The tone-arm support mechanism is for a gramophone, in which vertical wiring is replaced by three knife-edges to eliminate the torsional effect of the wiring and compensation is provided for horizontal torsion. A cylindrical housing (1) containing an inner cylinder (2) is provided, the inner housing being free to turn so that the fixed end of a spiral spring (4) to provide a torsion varying as the pick-up traverses the disc. Two spiral springs are fitted, which are also serve as leads to eliminate wiring.
