A system for interconnecting fractured femoral bone segments comprising: a marking tool for marking skin; a guiding device for advancing a first guide wire into the proximal end region and for guiding the drilling of a central bore for a screw; an alignment arrangement including second and third guide wires inserted substantially parallel to the central bore and indicating the correct insertion distance for the intramedullary nail inside the femur for fixation at the proximal end of the femur; a targeting jig including a first arm and a corresponding second arm arranged substantially parallely to the first arm, the first arm having a graduated scale on its free end region and the second arm having a similarly graduated scale; an insertion tool attachable to a proximal end of an Intramedullary nail and for insertion of the nail into a medullary canal of femur; one or more marking tools for further marking the skin in two substantially orthogonal planes at the distal end of the femur; a distal fixation jig including lateromedial and anteroposterior guiding parts-arranged substantially orthogonal to each other. |
