The strip-steel knife, producing system is partic. for knives used to form flat chips for chipboard etc. A narrow steel strip is passed continuously through a grinding zone where both edges are sharpened, after which these are set as necessary in a shaping zone by the formation of corrugations or the bending out of slotted protrusions, and then hardened and tempered in a heat-treatment zone. The strip is then parted off to the desired length. The strip (1) is provided with a central key or groove (5), by which it is guided through the grinding and subsequent processing zones. The groove is formed by milling or alternatively cold-rolled and then ground to finished size.
|
