<p>The ship's mast consists of a central spar and two members, one on each side of the spar, and at the same distance from it. The side members are attached to the spar by fixing brackets at equal intervals along it. The spar and the side members have aerofoil shapes, and the side members are set back from the central member. The brackets also have aerofoil sections and the members may be tapered towards one end of the spar. The central member is fitted with a sail track.</p> |
