Anti inflammatory and vasculotropic compsns. - contg. a synergistic combination of proteolytic enzyme, Ruscus Aculeatus extract and vitamin P

Compositions containing an anti-inflammatory proteolytic enzymatic complex (I), and a vasculotropic mixture (II) of a Ruscus Aculeatus L extract and >=1 Vitamin P factor, are new. The enzymatic complex (I) is pref. isolated from the pancreas and has chymotripsic anc trypsic activity, esp. 15000U of chymotrypsin and 10500U of trypsin (NF units). The extracts used in (II) are pref. sterolic heterosides prepd. from rhizomes of R. Aculeatus. The vitamin P factor used in (II) may be a chalconised and alkylated water soluble derivative of flavonic glucosides, esp. hesperidin-methyl-chalcone. Pref. presentation of the compsn is a tablet with (I) in the core and enteric coated and (II) in an outer layer. Used as anti-inflammatories and vaculotropes in human and veterinary medicine, esp. for haemorrhoidal crises, post-traumatic vascular disorders or oedema, in gynaecology for pelvic congestion and pain, and various disorders associated with oral and/or intra/uterine contraception. Synergism exists between (I) and (II).
