<p>The machine is used for spraying rock wool and similar fibres and comprises a wheeled frame (1, 2) supporting a hopper. This is in the top part of the frame and contains two sets of beaters (11, 11'). These have interacting blades (15, 15') spaced along rotating shafts (16, 16') and maintain the hopper contents in a fluid condition. An Archimedean screw at the bottom of the hopper feeds the rock wool between two rotating brushes (28, 30) combing the material into fibres. These drop by gravity into the inlet (35) of a centrifugal fan (14) inclined to the horizontal. The fibres are discharged into a flexible hose (36) and the spray gun.</p> |
