The thrust control lever has a turbine working conditions dependent pneumatic stop. The stop can be over-ridden if necessary by a control switch (50). The thrust lever is able to pivot backwards or forwards and is connected by a sliding joint (16) to a piston rod. The piston is double acting and has skirts (24) to control outlet openings (36). The cylinder is charged with compressed air via a switch-over valve (30) supplied by a short stroke compressor. The electric motor is energised by signals from the display meter. the change-over valve (44) for reverse thrust, is actuated by a cam (42) fitted to the piston rod.
