A method is used for supplying tracks or webs of paper, tissue, etc. to a folding machine for the production of serviettes etc. A track of material is unwound from a supply roll (1) the width of which is a multiple of the dimension of the product to be made. The track is divided into several individual tracks lying next to each other in one plane immediately after the unwinding. The separated tracks are guided into different planes parallel to each other, with their direction of movement then being changed by 90 deg. and are then conveyed to the folding machine (10) lined up vertically to their surfaces and parallel to each other.
