The pump shaft (4) is eccentric in the casing (1). A vane (5) in a slot diametrically through the shaft slides in the slot. One end of the vane (5) is hinged (A3) to an annular ring (3) which is concentric in the casing. The other end of the vane abuts on a recess (7) machined on the inside of a section of the annular ring and slides along this section. As the shaft rotates the vane rotates with it and also slides in it. At the same time it causes the annular ring to turn. Because the ring and the shaft are eccentric the vane pivots on the ring and its end slides in the recess. The space (10) between the vane and ring varies in volume.
