<p>1537289 Spacer R C LAMB 22 April 1976 [29 April 1975] 16367/76 Heading E1R A spacer unit 70 for glazing comprises a plurality of blocks 71, which may be cylindrical, right prismatic, spool shaped or spherical, skeletally interconnected in spaced relationship by web members 72. The basic unit may be of plastics material and comprise 2 rows each of 5 cylinders 1.5 mm. diam., 4 mm. high and at 4 mm. centres, the webs being 1.5 mm deep and 0.5 mm. wide. A dispenser (Figs. 1-4 not shown) akin to a staple gun is described which delivers one unit at a time from a continuous strip of connected units (Fig. 11 not shown). The method of use may be as follows, a window frame 56 has a strip of elastomeric sealant 62 applied to the vertical member 58, spacers 70 are discharged into the sealant by means of the dispenser gun e.g. at 250 mm. spacings, blocks 64 are positioned and the pane 63 inserted and retained by the glazing strip 66 with sealant 68 including further spacers.</p> |
