Roofed-over swimming pool, esp. so-called 'private' swimming pool, is a relatively long, narrow, rectangle, 2-4m wide, roofed by vaulted, bonded-together, transparent, plastics sheets. The 'vault' is formed of plates, curved towards, and facing, each other. They are pref. made of acrylic 'glass'. At least their edges have stiffening profiles e.g. ribs, which can be connected by means of fasteners. The edges overlap and are provided with seals. In an embodiment, the plates are composed of parts of dissimilar curvature so that they can be 'telescoped' over one another thus enabling the roof to be opened as desired. These roof sections are provided with rollers for easy sliding away.
|
