<p>The apparatus is used for the measurement of the centre of gravity and moment of inertia of a vehicle. It has a platform (1) for the vehicle (2) supported on longitudinal (3) and transverse (4) beams. Above the platform is a point (Mk) about which it is pivotable in all directions, and for this purpose it rests on a positioning member (7) whose locating surfaces (8, 9) are spherical. In order to achieve free movement, the support surface takes the form of a fluid bearing. A further positioning member comprising a retaining magnet (38) and ferromagnetic plate (39) prevents spurious movements of the platform (1) to which it is coupled by a rotation support (40). To make the desired movements, the platform is set in oscillation about the central pivot point (M)).</p> |
