A fibre reinforced electrode paste, suitable for use in a lead-acid accumulator, is made by electrostatically depositing synthetic fibres onto a semi-conductive conveyor, the fibres being oriented at right angles to the conveyor, applying lead powder to fill the spaces between the fibres, removing the mixt. so formed from the conveyor, and mixing the mixt. with water and sulphuric acid. Suitable fibres are of polypropylene, PVC or a fluorocarbon polymer. A uniform dispersion of the fibres, giving electrodes of increased strength.
