5'-Deoxy-5'-substd. amino-adenosine derivs. - used as antiviral, antitumour and anti-leukaemic agents

Medicaments contg. a 5'-deoxy adenosine deriv. of formula (I) are new: In (I), X is H or a gp. contg. 1-4C esp. alkyl, R is -NR1R2, R1 is H or CH3, R2 is 1-4C alkyl or R1-N-R2 forms morpholine, pyrrolidine, or an analogue. A typical prod. is 5'-deoxy-5'-(N-isobutyl) aminoadenosine. In an example this was prepd. by dissolving 1g 5'-O-tosyl adenosine in 10 ml isobutylamine and leaving the mixt. at ambient temp. for 8 days. The prod. was purified and converted to the free base by means of a cation exchange resin. The yield was 80%.
