The medicinal therapy appts. uses an alternating magnetic field, and has a rectangular core (10) with a number of magnet coils (S1, S2, S3, S4) on opposite sides of it. These coils generate magnetic poles (P1, P2) at the ends of the core, with a magnetic induction of 500 Gauss, when an alternating current source is switched on. The core an comprise two similar U-shaped sections (20, 21) whose arms (22-25) are joined at their ends by connecting lugs (30, 32). Each coil can comprise a tubular former (12-15) with flanges at each end, on which wire (16-20) is wound, the coils being covered ecternally with a layer of asbestos (28). The free ends of the coils are connected to glass-insulated supply wires.
