1534694 Transfer printing processes CIBAGEIGY AG 12 Dec 1975 [13 Dec 1974 29 Jan 1975] 51102/75 Headings D1B and D1P A dry heat transfer printing process for printing textiles comprises heating a transfer in contact with the textile, the transfer having been treated with a printing ink having an organic base and containing (i) a binding agent (ii) an organic solvent (iii) an aqueous preparation of sublimable dyes or optical brighteners in the form of a dispersion of particles having sizes less than 10Á which preparation comprises (a) water in an amount of at least 10%, (b) a finely dispersed dyestuff or optical brightener insoluble to difficultly soluble in water in an amount at least 30%, (c) an anion-active dispersing agent in an amount at most 10%, (d) a non-ionic dispersing agent in an amount at most 5% and (e) a hydrotropic agent in an amount at most 35%, said percentages being by weight of the preparation. Solvents include aliphatic alcohols, benzene of BP 110-180‹C and aliphatic ketones, binding agents being cellulose ester, cellulose ether, phenol resin and ketone resins Polyester, polyacrylonitrile, polyamide, and cellulose 2¢- and tri-acetate fibres may be printed. |
