IC engine distributor with electronic timing - has coil former surrounding stator and rotor with centrifugal advancing mechanism

A distributor with magnetic control is used on an IC engine driving a vehicle. It consists of a housing with an electronic circuit which regulates the timing of the ignition. The rotor can be advanced or retarded by adjusting the angle using a centrifugal correction device. The stator can be adjusted by the action of the advancing and retarding mechanism. The rotor (6) is fitted close to the top section of the centrifugal advancing mechanism(4) to which it is linked via a bush (5). The pole seats (6a) are aligned towards the top side of the coil former which is held under a cap (11). The former surrounds the stator section (8) which can be made to move as a result of the advance and retard mechanism.
