For the fine grinding gypsum, coal, phosphates and other material, a centrifugal milling machine is used. This has rollers (14) rotating about vertical axes, travelling around the interior of a grinding ring (15). The vertical axis of this ring is also the vertical axis of the carrier (6) which has radial arms carrying L-shaped supports (13) for the rollers (14). Each carrier swings about a hinge pin (12) below the level of the grinding ring. This enables to rollers to move towards or away from the ring, varying the force by which they contact it. The arm supports are flexibly mounted to absorb shocks, using rubber to metal bearing members. The rollers have double eccentric spindles, one on the roller, and one on the carrier.
