The dashboard mounting radio fits into a recess with a coil spring (23) at the bottom to push the radio out when released. A spring tag (4) with a stamped tag (13) clips into a locating hole in the bottom of the radio to secure it in position. The radio is released by pushing the tag iva a release hole under the recess. The retaining clip is double jointed and assumes one of two rest positions, either pressing into the radio or away from it. A second, transverse spring (22) is used for this. The release hole can be provided with a thief proof lock. The radio is fitted and released with single handed operation.
