A process for producing a relatively rigid article having a predetermined shape from a relatively soft resionus polymer deformable at room temp., which is subsequently hardened. The process is useful for making hollow articles such as pipes or tanks in a flexible form which may easily be transported and can be rendered rigid in situ. The resinous polymeric material pref. consists of a normally rigid material rendered flexible by adding plasticiser, the hardening being carried out by extracting the plasticiser or chemically hardening it. The polymer may be ABS resin, acrylic resin, polyamide, polyolefin, fluorinated polyolefins or pref. PVC. |
