The rear indicator for disc brakes consists of a tube (4) insertable through a hole (3) in the brake caliper into engageable with the back of one of the pad plates (5). A rod (7) is insertable through the tube and through a hole (8) in the plate into engagement with the disc (12). The combined thickness of the plate and the pad is then observable on a scale (13) on the outer end portion of the rod, the scale being read against the outer end of the tube. This gives an indication of the wear of the pad.
|
