The parent patent describes an explosion-resistant pressure vessel composed of concentric spheres; these are prestressed by radial struts, which thus transmit thrust to an innermost pressure shell suited concentrically to the spheres. In the patent of addition pressure shells and anti-burst shells are arranged concentrically and in such a sequence and number and with such an arrangement of radial prestressed spacers that sufficient load reserve exists to retard forces acting from the outside inwards. If the outermost anti-burst sphere is ruptured, the remaining system possesses sufficient strength while conversely if the innermost sphere is ruptured the remaining system also possesses sufficient strength. The system is equally effective against internal and external forces, i.e. it resists a suction force following upon a pressure wave.
