Crosslinkable polymers with reduced viscosity, are made by reacting polymers contg. OH and/or NH gps. and with mol. wt. over 500(1000), with cpds. which after reaction contain an active CH2 gp. with >=1 active H atom. Used in moulding materials and film-forming compsns. e.g. paints, coatings, adhesives, etc. Viscosity of the polymers is substantially reduced without loss of crosslinking properties, giving better flow, and allowing liquid compsns. with higher solids content or solvent-free coatings to be made without addn. of monomers, reactive diluents, etc.
