Monolithic integrated processor for radar and transmission systems - has programmable filter equivalent to transit time filter to extract signal from background noise

The signal processor, for extracting signals from background noise, has a filter equivalent to a transit-time filter with active externally programmable evaluation functions. The evaluation functions are used to attain different filter characteristics and consist of interlaced samples of several pulse responses. The processor does not digitise the input signal and thus avoids expensive A/D converters and digital filtering. It may be readily made as a monolithic integrated circuit. Phase and amplitude response can be chosen at will. The processor may be used as a variable delay line, pulse compression filter, MTI filter or video integrator.
