<p>A tipping mechanism for a skip (1) consists of two vertical columns (6) supported by bracing members (8). The columns (6) act as guides for rollers (4) attached to the body of the skip (11) which is raised by a hydraulic drive. When the skip (1) reaches the top of the column (6) the gear teeth (12) of the quadrant (18), which is fixed to the body of the skip (1), engage the teeth of a rack fixed to the top of the column. The skip (1) then rolls on the rack and discharges its load through the chute (3).</p> |
