<p>There are two loading bays (2) upper and (1) lower to carry cars. Each can be adjusted for height at its ends. This adjustment is done by hinged support arms (5) to the chassis and to the loading bay. The bays have longitudinal guides. The lower end of the support arms is fixed to a torsion shaft (6). On this shaft is firmly fixed a lever (11). The end of this lever is joined, by hinging, to the piston rod of a ram in the vehicle chassis frame. On the torsion shaft is a sector shaped plate which mates with a slot in the chassis frame. When the bay is in position, this plate is locked by a pin.</p> |
