Plug. in connectors is for fibre optic cables, pref. for connection of plug-in transmitter or receive r modulus to telecommunications cables. The ends of the fibre-optics cables are fitted with pins (12) resiliently held in a holder (7) and the plug-in module has connecting elements with guides (21) which centralise the pins when the connection is made. The holder is pref. part of a fixed console.
