1. A packing for a stew-pot for the cooking of foodstuffs, constituted by a base (1) and a cover (4), both provided with ears (2, 3, 5, 6), this packing being itself constituted by a sheet of card intended to be partially interposed between the superposed edges of the base and cover of the stew-pot, this sheet comprising two cut-out portions (18, 20 and 19, 21), situated symmetrically near the two opposed edges of the sheet and integral therewith, bendable perpendicularly with respect to the central part (7) of the sheet, characterised in that each cut-out portion is bent up in such a manner as to extend partially above and partially below the central part of the sheet, and in that each cut-out portion includes an oblong window (8, 9) extending at each side of a line of bending (12, 13 and 14, 15), these windows being intended to receive and to retain at the same time the superposed ears (2, 5 and 3, 6) of the base (1) and of the cover (4) of the stew-pot.
