1461115 Putting up medical appliances BIO MEDICAL SCIENCE INC 9 July 1974 [1 Oct 1973 14 Jan 1974 28 Jan 1974] 30322/74 Heading A5R [Also in Divisions B8 and G1] A package for surgical and dental equipment consists of a hollow housing 11 of rigid or semi-rigid material, such as plastics or metal, divided into two sections 18, 19 by a band 20 of reduced wall thickness, the section 18 separable by a levering action to fracture the band 20, the handle 25 of the article being contained in and engaged by section 18 such that the body 24 of the article may then be withdrawn from section 19. As shown, body 24 is a thermometer. Housing 11 is made in two complemenetary halves which may be heat-sealed together when the article has been placed in the lower half. Handle 25 of the article may slide within section 18 until a partially withdrawn position is reached and locking means engage to prevent subsequent retraction of the handle. |
