The stacked laminated core blocks (3, 4) in the form of yokes and shanks, can be assembled into a transformer iron core. The laminations (5, 6) of the individual cores cross each other in a grid shape at the abutting or gap points (3a, 4a). Between the abutting points of the individual cores is preferably provided a variable magnetic resistor, the shorter force line paths (7) extend in the region of the greater gap. The individual abutting points may form a specified angle and may be coated with different material. The core shanks typically enclose intermediate yoke shanks.
