<p>Enol-ethers and eno-thioethers of 1-hydroperfluoroalken-1-yl carboxylic acid derivs. are of formula Rf-C(-Y-R')=CH-COOX (I) (where Rf is 1-11c perfluoroalkyl; R' is lower alkyl, F-contg. alkyl having formula CF3-(CF2)a-(CH2)b-, in which is integer 0-16 and b is integer 1-4, Ph or a gp. having a formula -(CH2CH2O)nR2, -(CH2CHMeO)R2 or -(CHMeCH2O)nR2 in which n = 1-50 and R2 is H or lower alkyl. X is H, NH4+, alkali metal or lower alkyl and Y is -O- or S-). 1-Hydroperfuloroalken-1-yl carboxylic acid derivs. of formula Rf-CF=CH-COOX (III) are also claimed. (I) can be used in textile, leather and paper industry, as intermediates for oil- and water-repellent agents and as plasticisers and self-lubricating additives for plastics. Polyglycol enol-ethers (I) are nonionic surfactants and can be used in aq. solns. or organic solvents, e.g. C2Cl4, CCl4 and fluorocarbons, to lower surface tension. Enol-thioethers can be used as chain-regulators in radical-initiated polymerisation processes.</p> |
