The energy installation may or may not be coupled to a process plant. It functions as a heat power station and as a heat pump system, in which the heat intake and discharge take place at various different temperature levels. The installation may incorporate a power station and one or more mechanically driven heat pumps. The energy unit comprises mainly several thermally operated heat pumps connected in cascade. Each of the heat pumps will be integrated with a compressor with a power tool with a final pressure equal to that of the compressor.
