<p>The beam splitter, for a laser used for welding large-diameter pipes in manufacturing works, divides a composite beam consisting of a constant and variable beam into its component parts and allows one of the primary beams to rotate about the axis of the other stationary beam. The composite beam, with one primary beam coaxially around the second primary beam, is directed onto a 45 deg.-cut reflecting tube (15) that separates the two beams. The centre primary beam passes through the tube and the coaxial primary beam is further reflected by a 45 deg. mirror so that its axis is parallel to the centre primary. Tube and mirror rotate about the composite beam axis.</p> |
