<p>The stenotype tape reader is of a portable type and is contained in a housing (1). The housing has compartments (5, 6) for an electric motor and batteries. A compartment (7) contains the systems automatic controls which include control keys (8) of a tape recorder, for stop, start as well as fast wind and unwind of tape. These are also keys (9) for selecting one of three read speeds. A compartment (10) encloses spools (11, 12) for tape wind and unwind. Another compartment (13) houses the drive system connecting the electric motor to the 3 speed mechanism.</p> |
