The tent has a symmetrical pitched portal frame cross section and has a continuous ground level ring spar. The frame has a roof structure supported by posts which are connected by the ring spar. The lower edges of the gable and side wall panels of the inner and outer skins are tensioned and anchored to the ring spar. The frame may be demountable with tubular members joined by elastic connections at the nodes. The connections may be of the spigot and socket type with radial locking lugs on a spring hair clip in the spigot.
