Reducing residual moisture in solid-liq. sepn. - from flue gas desulphurisation, by adding weakly acid soln. to centrifuged solids

The final moisture content during a solid/liquid sepn. from wet flue gas desulphurisation plant is reduced in several stages. After the first solid/liquid separation a weakly acid solution, pref. from an oxidiser tank, is added in subsequent washing and liquid separating stages. This removes the residual moisture from the solid mixture and at the same time separates the iron slurry.
