PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and low-cost solar battery which excels in the output charateristics by connecting the monolithic solar batteries in parallel with the solar batteries in parallel with the solar battery elements connected in series in the same number. CONSTITUTION:In the monolithic solar batteries to be mounted on the dial plate of the watch, 3-unit series solar battery elements 8, 9 and 10 composed through junction of p<+>-type diffusion layer 4 and substrate 1 are connected in parallel to solar battery elements 11, 12 and 13. In this case, element 8 featuring the highest potential is prevented from beifng adjacent to element 10 featuring the lowest potential. These two pairs of battery elments are arranged in parallel to solar batteries 14, 16 and 18 plus 19, 21 and 23 which are composed through junction between the p<->- type diffusion layer (isolation layer) and substrate 1. In such constitution, only one unit at the center among 5 p<->-type diffusionlayers 3 has element 8 and 11 unified together at right and left sides, and element 10 and 13 of the right and left terminals are distributed on the same substrate via no p<->-type diffusion layer. Then an external connection is given via wiring 6 formed through etching of th aluminum deposite film. As a result, the adjacency can be avoided between element 8 and 10 as well as between 11 and 13, thus ensuring a big reduction of the output. |
