Passive stabilised microwave oscillator - has power loss reduced by using given configuration of attenuator and half-wave line

The passive stabilised microwave oscillator is coupled via a half lamda line with an attenuator to a stabilisation resonator. The attenuator consists of a resistance film and is located at the end of the half lambda line just before the point where it is coupled to the resonator. The attenuator is perpendicular to the waveguide's axis and its impedance is chosen so that the wanted frequency passes almost unatenuated. The advantage lies in reducing power loss and in increasing frequency stability.
