The rope winches used in forestry for moving tree trunks are remote controlled by radio signals. The radio signals control winch clutches and traction vehicles. This eliminates heavy physical effort and risk of injury. The arrangement has an additional, weaker, rope winch connected by a centrifugal clutch to an associated engine by radio signals. This clutch engages while the engine idles. The weaker rope winch is used for extending the heavy rope actually used for pulling logs on vehicle. The weaker rope winch readily unwinds the heavy rope from the vehicle winch drum.
