<p>The striker is of the type which includes a sliding percussion rod which can take up a fixed position in which the rod is held against a spring. The fixed position of the rod is achieved by means of the magnetic attraction exerted by a permanent magnet circuit. An electrical winding is used to counteract the attraction force of the magnetic circuit to enable the spring to drive the rod. The magnetic circuit includes two pole pieces one (1) of which is fixed on the other (2) is movable, a cover (4), a base plate (5) and two cylindrical permanent magnets (6, 7). The cover (4) and the baseplate (5) are fixed to a housing (3). The cover (4) has a disc (4a) fitted with an orifice surmounted by a hollow cylinder (4b). The housing baseplate (5) and cylinder (4b) are made from extra soft steel.</p> |
