A filter for gases with a pneumatic alarm for indicating satn. of the filter mass and for controlling the active components comprises a valve constituted by a cylindrical body which passes through the filter bed creating a passage in which a piston slides axially guided by a rod and provided with a slot in its lateral wall. If the filter mass becomes clogged, the gas passes through the slot and puts into action an alarm or a flowmeter when the difference in press. between the zones upstream and downstream of the filter becomes greater than that for which the valve has been standardised. The appts. ensures uniform and constant operation during the whole of the use of the installation, giving efficiency of filtration and safeguarding the motor. It can be applied, suitably dimensioned, to any appts. and does not contain costly or delicate appts. The cost of construction is very moderate.
