<p>The ceramic tile or panel is esp. for use as a flooring or wall panel, in residential as well as in industrial buildings. It incorporates a ceramic insulation layer (3), made in a single piece with it and burnt in the same process in production. The glaze (1) is pref. applied direct to the insulation layer, and on both sides of it. A support layer (2) of ceramic material, burned in the same process, can be provided between glaze and insulation layer, to accommodate loading, the insulation layer being pref. thicker. While easily handled, this provides effective heat insulation and heat storage, without addition of a special layer.</p> |
