There are rod attachment units, led out of a lock case at top and bottom, and movable to and fro opposite ways when the lock is operated, in the rod-activated lock for the walkers' passage wing in a sliding and folding door, or other large multi-wing door, and these are connectable to a top or bottom bolting rod. A spring(17) is fitted between a stop(15, 16) connected to the top or bottom rod attachment unit(6, 7), and an abutment connected to the lock(1) or the passage door wing. This acts against the in-drawing movement of the rod attachment units. It may be a compression spring, mounted between the lock case and an attachment unit collar. This largely eliminates any effect of difference in weight between top and bottom bolting rod on the activating force.
