<p>A relay or switch has a sprung ring which acts as armature and core of an electromagnet. The sprung ring (9) when relaxed has an air gap (8) which closes when the coil (12) is energised. As the ring (9) moves the contact carriers (4, 5) make and break the electrical contacts (6, 7 etc). The contacts can be brought out at socket holes positioned in a can-like enclosing housing. Several contact pairs can be arranged in the same housing. This arrangement ensures working under unfavourable conditions.</p> |
