Static mixer tube for fluids - with holes in some inclined elliptical mixing elements

Parent patent 2525020 described a mixer for fluid materials, consisting of a tube with mixing elements in the shape of inclined intersecting guide surfaces which are provided with passage openings. These split the fluid stream into many side streams. Each element is elliptical, with an angle of 30 degrees - 60 degrees to the centre line; an elliptical opening with a minor axis amounting to 0.4-0.6 times the tube dia. is punched out and the punched out disc is welded at right angles to the main element. The circular holes in the elements pref. have the punched out part adhering to the element but at an acute angle.
